That only goes for on-site hotels as they’re all expensive. Depending on the time of year, the room can be found for between $600-$700 a night. Saratoga Springs and Old Key West can be found for less but Animal Kingdom Lodge comes after that. Instead of booking through Disney, I’d recommend looking into renting DVC points from a number of sites for the cheapest price possible. Although parking at Disney World resort hotels used to cost a nightly fee for resort guests, Disney has changed their policy so that parking is now free for all on-site resort guests. Rooms feature the standard amenities, including a hairdryer, TV, free WiFi, a coffee maker, telephone, in-room safe, and an iron and ironing board.

There are also a range of views, including either one of the savannas, landscaping, pool, or the parking area. If you’ve researched hotels at Walt Disney World, you know the basics. The savanna view does cost extra (in points or dollars), but we feel it’s worth it once, especially for those who will be spending a lot of time in the room. When we did a savanna view room, one morning, absolutely no animals were visible shortly after sunrise. In addition to standard/villa room sizes, Jambo House also offers 1-Bedroom, 2-Bedroom, and 3-Bedroom Grand Villas.
Amenities And Shops
They could be described as drab as the color palette isn’t exactly light and inviting, but I love the look. I think it works perfectly for the resort, and not every hotel needs to have an “uplifting” visual motif. I’m sure there’s some deep-cut backstory explaining the significance of these subtle thematic tweaks, but it’s probably not going to be obvious to the average guest.
Kidani Village
Located in the lobby, this shop has what you are looking for — including complimentary DVD rentals for Disney Vacation Club Members. In Kidani Village, you’ll find Johari Treasures, where you can purchase DVC Merchandise as well as some groceries for your villa. Animal Kingdom Lodge is widely considered one of the best “foodie Resorts.” Reservations for the Resort’s Table Service dining are highly recommended.
The theming at Animal Kingdom Jambo House is some of the best in the Disney Vacation Club network. If you’re looking for a DVC golden gem, book a club-level concierge room at AKV Jambo House. You can’t beat the unlimited snacks that come with this kind of room.

Sanaa is a beloved Table Service restaurant located in Kidani Village. This is an excellent restaurant — and is very underrated — therefore it’s usually easy to snag a reservation. The Resort’s Quick Service restaurant, Mara is open morning to night and offers great food and poolside dining. Disney Vacation Club Members will not be charged for standard overnight self-parking when staying at a DVC Deluxe Villa, regardless of whether they use vacation points or another form of payment. Members also will not be charged to park when using vacation points to stay at another Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It’s a lot like Aulani (Disney’s Resort in Hawaii) in that regard, as a destination unto itself with so much to see and do that you won’t feel you’re missing anything by staying in the resort.

You get proximity to the parks, impeccable theming, and all kinds of unique amenities. We ended up in a 2-bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House during our June trip with my family. There were 7 adults and 1 kid in our party and we ended up using DVC points to get our room. The room was a 2-bedroom lock-off meaning that this is a studio room joined with a 1-bedroom villa.

If you need lots of space then this may be something to keep in mind. That said, most of these resorts hold the same amount of people and Jambo House uses its space well. It is recommended to book these in advance by calling 407-WDW-SPAS. Samawati Springs Pool – This zero-entry pool that features a 128-ft. Take relaxation to a whole new level in one of the two whirlpool spas near the main pool, or refresh at Maji Pool Bar.
Safari So Good Arcade – Test your arcade skills while you play classic and new games in this high-tech entertainment room located near the lobby. Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center – Work out with weights or on treadmills, bicycles or elliptical cross trainers. Located near Samawati Springs Pool, this fitness center is open to all Walt Disney World® Guests over 14 years of age; an adult must accompany Guests under age 18 at all times. Johari Treasures – Find fascinating gifts, Disney Vacation Club logo merchandise, toys or various sundries and groceries you may need.
This worked out well for us since it gave the room 2 entrances. Sanaa also has Table Service To Go, which allows guests to Mobile Order and take their meal back to their room. There’s one main pool at Jambo House, but the pool at Kidani Village is only a short walk. If you need a non-park day, we recommended spending the day at your hotel and enjoying the Disney Resort pool.
If you have a savanna view DVC room, make sure you check out the different savannas at AKV Jambo House. Each has unique animals because not all the animals get along well. If you want giraffes, try the Sunset Savanna or the Arusha Savanna. If you want a quieter environment, try the Uzima Savanna.
There is a huge picture window at the far end of the lobby that looks out over 30 acres of land. From here, you can walk out onto an elevated viewing area called Arusha Rock and enjoy the roaming animals. Anyone can stay at a DVC Resort or in a DVC Villa Room as long as there is space available. You can book it like any other Disney hotel room — either on Disney’s website, calling Disney’s Reservation Line, or with a travel agent. Animal Kingdom Lodge comprises two unique areas, Jambo House and Kidani Village. Jambo House (the original Animal Kingdom Lodge) has both Disney Vacation Club (DVC) rooms and regular guest rooms.
While Aulani and Animal Kingdom Lodge are very different thematically, both share that–and authentic design by Imagineer Joe Rohde and his team–in common. Without question, Jambo House is the resort I’d pick if I were doing a long “no parks” weekend at Walt Disney World.
There is less artwork in the room but it’s still a nice space. On the other hand, I loved the decor in the living room. As you see in the photo above, the table and bench are a focal point. Extending the architecture style we see in the lobby into the room with pieces like the bench is a nice thematic choice. I really like the hanging lamps and painted plates by the table as well. The couch is another pull-out and the chair turns into a twin size bed.
Disney used to have a service where you were able to purchase items in the parks and then have them delivered to your resort’s gift shop. However, that service has been unavailable for several years now. Even though the front desk is there to assist guests, especially with checking in and checking out, all Disney World Resort guests are encouraged to check-in online or by using MDE.
AKV Jambo House Grand Villa has the major benefit of being all on one level. This is great for accessibility and for DVC guests of all ages. You can really entertain in the AKV Jambo House Grand Villa. Keep in mind that rooms with numbers in the 300s and 500s are the furthest from the lobby, but it might be worth it to stay there if that’s your only availability for a savanna view. At select locations, Mobile Ordering is also available.
